heater box to firewall seal
« on: June 28, 2004 - 06:14:42 PM »
I tried to install the heater box in the convert today but found that one of the condensation hoses has about a 1/4 inch gap where water will enter into the passenger compartment??  I assume that there is some kind of seal that makes a compression seal that I'm missing.  If it isn't something that I can source, can you tell me what its made of so I can try to find an alternative.  I found a company that stocks the following gasket material:

Solid/Dense and Sponge Materials including:

Neoprene
Fluoroelastomer - Viton® & Fluorel®
Silicone
Natural Rubber
Latex
Buna 'N' (Nitrile)
Buna 'S' (SBR)
Hypalon®
Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR)
Synthetic Polyisoprene
EPDM
Polyurethane

I think in the photo below it is called the retailer and grommet??

All help is always appreciated!!  ;)

I would think you would be looking for some dense foam.

Did you purchase a firewall gasket kit?

Schumaker had these at one time as I got one when I did the Swinger.
