Exhaust size
« on: January 08, 2009 - 02:37:09 PM »
I have a 318 pretty stock. It has a 4brl intake 600 edelbrock carb. I am going to put a new exhaust system on the car. I picked out a good set of Dougs headers and was about to get a set of tips. I found a good set in both 2.5 and 2 inch.  Should the car use 2 or 2.5 pipe? Does it matter what size I use?  :dunno: Wanted to ask before I commit to a size.

Dual 2" is enough for the 318.  :chatting:

If you're buying a new system anyway go with 2.5". Then when your 318 craps out and you find a great deal on a 360 or a big block you're not strapped with a too small exhaust.  :2cents:
