Name / Where do I get?
« on: May 26, 2004 - 09:27:34 PM »
What is this called and where do I get one.

It is the Rubber boot that sealed the gas filler pipe and the gas tank. Mine Leaks. Maybe once I get it fixed I will get 8 miles per gallon instead of 6.

Go to the Paddock at this link.

http://www.paddockparts.com/Paddock/assets/html/homepage.asp?URLCheck=1

Then click Dodge/Plymouth on the left. . . go to fuel/gas tanks and you should find what you need.  I believe it said that the seals won't be available until after June 4. . . but thats not to far away.  You could also check with Year One . . . they might have them in stock.  I think they call it a filler neck seal.  I would drop the tank.  It looks like you need the seal for your trunk floor also??

Hope that helps!!

Don't forget to check with your local Chrysler dealer as a lot of these are still available. I changed mine a couple of years ago now but got it from DC. Warehouse had stock and got it overnight.

Behind the license plate bracket the filler neck has a couple of screws, take them out then spray some lube around the neck/tank meet then start to wiggle, and twist working it out.

I think it will be easier that way. With the angle that the filler neck goes in the tank makes it more of a pain than the above.

if you need pictures i could get them for you.....let me know, i could post them late tomorrow.

BC here is a pic of the floor to filler tube seal.  This mounts to the 4 screw holes in your trunk floor! Also available at either of those 2 links!  If you need more pics, I'm installing the tank and filler tube in the near future.  Waiting for some j bolts for the tank mounting.
