Thanks Barry,Got that totally wrong,at least you know how it all works,i always thought that if you deleted the R/T side stripe you could have the tail stripe instead. :clueless:

Changing from a V6 stripe to a V9 stripe on an R/T was a substitution, not a delete & add the other one, if that helps?

70R/T, it's the other way around; the tail bumble-bee stripe is standard, one could choose the R/t side stripe insted or delete altogether.  I never knew about the 'V9x'  though, I assume that this would NOT appear on the fender tag since no drilling is involved.

The V9 stripes were coded on the fendertags.

I'll add this just in case anyone is getting the R/T & 340 cars & their standard stripes confused with each other.

V68 - Stripe delete on a R/T

V98 - Stripe delete on a Challenger 340

Another thing to keep in mind is that starting in February, 1970 the V6 stripes were available on non R/Ts (including the A66 cars). These stripes did not have the R/T callouts, but otherwise looked the same. They were available in Black, White, Red, Blue and Green.
