Wheel contacting caliper

Anyone ever run into the problem of the caliper contacting the wheel?
I have just done the 12" cop rotor swap on my Challenger and bought a set of Superlight wheels and I see that I have a wheel to Caliper contact.
Does anyone have any objections to me grinding some clearance on the caliper?
I have 74 slider style calipers on 74 Challenger spindles.

You could NOTCH the caliper... al lil bit...with a grinder...My buddy did that to his Nova before..[ The tire does still go on though? right?]...Just rubs a little..??

a small amount of clearancing may work but you didn`t hear ti from me , I know a lot of guy trim a huge amouint off the 3/4 ton calipers to fit wheels , I wouldn`t do it but they make it work

a friend of mine had the same problem with his b300.... big rotors and 15"wheels.  He was grinding all the way through the hold down clips... :scared:
personally I wouldn`t touch them... I don`t like grinding things that make your car stop or steer... :misbehaving:

If the RIM actually GOES ON....It cant be that MUCH that has to be taken off.

No it's not much,  just a large casting bump on the top of the caliper.
You can see it in the pic, the caliper is cast round to go in the wheel except this one area.

I'd say that in the molding /casting process that's where the runner was. They are pretty crude when they trim off runners and flash. I'd say one could safely blend down that area to match the radius that you were talking about. All that's under there is the piston and if it didn't break through on the radius part it won't there either?
