Original interior identification, Need Help
« on: February 05, 2009 - 02:23:40 PM »
Can anyone tell me what the difference is between original and repro interior panels.  Door panels, kick panels, and rear panels.
I believe that the new repops won't have the part numbers on back.  Is this correct?
I have a chance to get a red interior but we are trying to determine the worth.

Lots of people have spoken pretty poorly of the repro stuff.  Holes in the wrong places, blunt rather than crisp details, etc.  I've got repop A-pillar covers and they look good to me...maybe I got lucky.  :dunno:

If it's red, I would have to believe it's real. Up until now, I have only seen the repro's in black and white. I know this doesn't help you, but if you ever look at and feel the originals, they are quite a bit different than the repro's.

Well, unforunately the interior is in the Netherlands and I can't reach out and touch them.
Some of the corners are worn off and the plastic underneath looks yellow.
Anyone else have a red interior or had one that had some chips that can tell me what the inside of the panels look like.
Are they full red plastic??

Do the repro's have part numbers on the backs of them like the originals do?

Original colored panels are the same color all the way through.

Thanks, I was wondering if they were the same color all the way through.  I will list some pics when I get home from work.  See what you guys think.

I have seen a couple untouched red interiors. They fade quite a bit. I have seen a yellowish tint in spots from sun fading. Originals should have #s on the back. seems the numbers should also reviel the original color.
