    determining Gear Ratio

    Ok..how do you figue our what gear ratio you have when the tag is missing and you have / do not want to pull the rear apart.

    This is a non-sure grip 8 3/4, if that makes a difference.

    Jack up 1 tire (keep other from turning), rotate tire 2 complete revolutions, count driveshaft revolutions, that is the ratio.  For sure-grip have both tires up and rotate 1 revolution.

    Aaha...that's the trick..2 revolutions, I was trying it with one and it was not making any sense!!!! :banghead:

    Hey, what do you know, my Cuda has a 3.21 ratio in the rear...hmm I thought it was a 2.XX something.

    Not the greatest ratio, but now I will be able to calibrate my spedo!!!
