Hey gang,
I finally have all of these done. For some cars & trucks there are up to 8 pages of information, all the sorting & collating took ages. There were records for over 2400 Mopars in this batch alone. One item from this batch has been claimed so far.

As 2008 comes to a close, I now have items for over 6000 cars waiting to be claimed.

Thanks once again to Tom Race and to everyone else that has donated the items they have found.

Hey Barry-

How long do the dealerships keep their records? I'm looking for info on my Dart GT, and was wondering if I should even bother calling the dealership (I think it may have been sold new from a currently operating dealership). If I did call them, or go in and talk to someone, who would be the best person to ask for as far as position?

It depends. Chrysler required them to keep the records for seven years. Most have long since been disposed of I am sure, but.....

you will never know if you do not ask them.

Try the manager or ask for the employee that has been there the longest.

Best of luck!

I have no clue, I have never been to Compton. Have you tried to Google it?

EVERYTHING I have here is listed on the site, so if you did not find your VIN there, then I have nothing on it.

For owners of 1970 Hamtramck & LA cars, I do know of hundreds of items that others have, if i get a "match" to one of those when the folks register their cars I let them know.

Hey gang,
After the Carlisle show I stopped in for a visit with Tom Race at R/T Specialties. He has more NOS and used parts than a 454 can throw a rod at, it was amazing to see.

Tom gave me a HUGE box of dealership records from the L. L. Richardson Dodge dealership in Dallas, PA. The records rage from the 1930s to 1974 from what I have seen so far. I am estimating that there are records for approximately 3000 cars, everything from 6 bangers to 440-6 cars. The information is a real treat to see.

Due to the extra large donation of records, it will take me quite a while to get them all sorted out by VIN, model year and assembly plant. As I get each model year sorted out I will be listing them all in the "found" section of www.hamtramck-historical.com so that the legal owners of the cars can claim them.

For those of you I know with other Registries, I will have some information for several of you once I get to the cars you track.

I am going to have to buy at least two new filing cabinets and hundreds of file folders & page protectors to safely store these, so if anyone would like to make a monetary donation to help with that please let me know?

Thank you Tom for all of us!

Barry   sent you a little donation. hope it helps. thanks for helping me with my door vin tag picture awhile back

Wow, hadn't read this thread before.  Always knew Tom was one of the good guys.  Glad he got these to you and, hopefully, they all find their way to the current owners :2thumbs:

Hi Ken,
Thanks for the donation!

If the 7th digit in your VIN is a "B" use the Hamtramck form. If it is an "E", use the LA form.

Ijust went on the site and looked at the registration form and it is asking for a pencil copy of the fender tags. I don`t have the car here yet,it is still at the fellows home were I bought it,he is storing it for me until spring. I do have ,I think, all of the fender tag codes, will that be enough? :clueless: :bigsmile:KEN    northern :canada:
