B-body rearend install?
« on: February 04, 2009 - 09:29:36 PM »
I dont know if it had been posted already. But I was wondering what had to be done to fit a B-body rearend into a E-body. I wana shoot for getting 295/50/15 tires under the rear. Or is there an easyer method than going out and finding a B-body rear?

you can play with the wheel offset to get it to fit with the diff you have
you would need to weld new spring pads on the B body diff & then you need to play with offset wheels again to line it up

If you use the correct year B-Body housing, you can use Dr. Diff's offset shackle kit & it is a bolt in deal.

Does anyone have any pics of what they did to install a B-body rear end? Looks like the more easier route to me. I would like to see what needs to be done before I start making plans.

I really dont know what springs I want. I want to redo my suspension this summer now that I have done my motor and trany.  Im still researching......I want a suspension that is great for drag racing but handle alot better than it does now on the street. I have small block torsion bars, I really dont know what leaf springs I have now are classified as.  No sway bars, air shocks in the back, and I think stock front shocks. I was looking at the XV Level I suspension.
