A Run In with a Truck!

this isnt mopar related at all, but still relevant to those of us who cant ever resist a good run.  was coming home from school tonight in the daily driver corvette.  and let me establish (not that it really needs to be, despite a general apathetic opinion of chevy that I know most Mopar guys have) that the corvette aint no slouch in the go department.  my model corvette reputedly runs high 12s stock, down right respectable for any car.  so at the light i take off with a fair amount of pedal to get away from traffic (hate driving in pockets of traffic).  few moments later i glance up in my rearview and see headlights from something that looks like its glued to my bumper!  i was in 4th, which is just a cruise gear for street driving, but i floored and much to my surprise i only pulled away slightly.  slowed back down to a reasonable pace, and change lanes in preperation for my next turn.  next thing i know this guy has his nose about eqaul with my passenger door.  he got a quick jump on me before i noticed but i quickly floored in again realizing i was then going to miss my turn, but i can never resist a good race.  i was pretty surprised when he continued to pull on me and i just wasnt really catching up!  now had i downshifted into 3rd i probably coulda kept ahead, but damn, out of a pickup truck that was mighty impressive.  just never know what the competition is packing.

Sounds like the truck acheaved the element of suprise, which is concidered to be a force multiplier by at least 3!  Furhter more the Vett did not have the proper "Intelligence" on the truck to prepare him for his up coming face off, which would lead us to our "Operations" side of the house which would have been the race  its self!  Now if the Vett would have had the proper Intel he would have known to shift into third and suck that truck up one exhaust pipe and blow him out the other!!!

As the saying goes: Intelligence Drives Operations!!!
