Looking For Beater Wheels And Tires
« on: February 16, 2009 - 05:14:00 PM »
Hey Guys,

I'm looking for (4) 15" wheels for my 71 Challenger convertible.  The 14" wheels and tires that came with it are mostly bald and not holding air and two wheels are extremly bent.  I wanted better ones so I could occasionally drive it around the neighborhood during the restoration.  I'm not looking to spend a lot if all.  I figured I would just go to the junk yard for the tires.  Craig's List came up empty so did E-bay.  I'm near Bel Air, Maryland.  Thanks

My e-mail is hoods1969@yahoo.com

The junkyard is the best place for steel wheels as well.  Any B-body, post-73 A-body, M-body (lots of those - Diplomat, Fifth Ave, etc) and most 1/2 ton trucks and vans will have the right bolt pattern.  So will lots of Fords and GMs - anything that's 5x4.5.
