Well I decided to take on a trunk floor replacement project this winter rather than just putting the car in storage as I normally do . Thought I would share a few pictures of the "before" and progress to date. Hopefully you can see from the pictures, that the floor was in need of replacement as it was rusty , had a few holes, and was poorly repaired by somebody else previously with bondo and black undercoating.
The first two pictures are of before I started disassembly. The third picture is of the initial cut I made, I kind of just took the center of the trunk pan out with the idea being once that was out I could stand in the trunk to work on cutting the remaining spot welds.
The fourth picture is of the car with the entire center section removed.
The fifth picture is just an overall shot of the rear of the car - under reconstruction in December 2008.
I am leaving the tailpipes in place at this point because they are welded to the rear of the mufflers and I don't want to get too many projects going at one time - has something to do with $$ I guess.
I have purchased a one piece center section and both sides of the trunk extensions.
Hope to post more pictures as I go along - wish me luck!
