I'm putting a new hemi 6qt oil pan and 3/8 oil pickup on my 440. I'm curious what the measurement should be between the bottom of the pickup and the pan? I don't think they should be touching should they?
Thanks

You want less than a 3/8 gap. Typically you run a windage tray with a pan gasket on both sides. if you just have one gasket now then the extra gasket and windage tray would be about perfect.

I thought 3/8 is perfect. Not enough space can cause problems.
