So, I purchased my 73 'cuda last summer and have been getting more and more electric gremlins as time passes. The guy that owned it had an aftermarket stereo that I already removed along with some unneccesary lights, yet there are still plenty of rats nests of wires left. I've got a short somewhere under the dash, think it might be in the Rally gauges somewhere, I haven't attempted to pull the dash yet. I've replaced the altenator and battery multiple times, yet my battery isn't getting charged. Not sure if that has to do with the short or not. The car has a Magnum crate motor along with an MSD ignition kit and I recently swapped out the Accel coil to a MSD. The car starts right up when it's cold, but after the engine gets hot, it cranks and cranks before it fires up. The cranking is healthy and I checked the timing, everything there is okay. Thought swapping the coil might help, but it didn't. Anyway... I'm frustrated and at the point of rewiring everything. Honestly, I'm a mediocre mechanic at best, and a poor electrician. I'm done chasing the electric issues I have and just want to buy a Painless and have someone do it right! Anybody know a place to go in or around Irvine or other locations in OC?
