Body in white

Did Body in white vehicles have VINs? I am assuming the NASCAR race cars started life as body in whites. How about drag cars? Did they start as body in white vehicles or were they production cars?

I do not believe they came with VINs.  They were strictly meant for racing (yeah, right), and had a big sticker on the glovebox that stated that.  They also came with no warranty.

I can tell you the new white drag racing Challengers don't have VIN's.

Body in white cars did not have VINs since they were sold as the chassis "tub", not a completed car.

Some of the factory sponsored drag cars were sold as completed cars, they did get VIN numbers.
