I never gave it much thought. I thaught a Republic was a group of Demoratic territories (States).

I agree with this video and am glad to see my home state of Oklahoma just declred sovereignty.

Good for Oklahoma. It's kinda what started the civil war. The individual rights of the states to govern themselves. I think we need less big government by a LONG shot, but we don't need a civil war!!

I really enjoyed that video, very informative...  I can understand more republic policies now. Hope the video was on the up. If it is, it does change alot of my views.  Thanks for posting that

That was an interesting review of government, and a reminder of some stuff I forgot from school!  I didn't scrutinize every detail, but it seems like an accurate enough overview of government types.

One thing I do remember from school, though.  The US is a representative republic.  The founders of our constitution very wisely set up a republic, with laws formed by representatives elected by those who they represent.  In other words, a democracy in voting, to form a republic type of government.  The blend of theories was intentional, and very carefully considered.

If we were 'just' a democracy (majority rule), then GM fans might rule the country!   :D
