Indoor swimming pool (in my garage)
« on: February 28, 2009 - 08:47:05 PM »
I came home today from a two week business trip and I guess my drainage around my garage didn't hold up to the constant thaw and refreeze over the last few days.
I had boarded up the main door and added heat since my car is at the bodyshop for the winter so that I could work on the rest of the pieces. The only way into the garage was through a side door that opened in.

I managed to break through the window and get inside to get the ice away from the side door. Fortunately the only automotive things below sea level were some exhaust shields and the front sway bar.

Since it was -22 we worked fast to get the water out but there is still some residue which created my new indoor rink!

Sorry you went through that.  Had a washer hose to burst one time and had over 4" of water in my living room.  It was a garage a long time ago and ruined everything in there.  Took a lot of work to get it back right.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

Wow,
That's a lot of ice!! That's not a pretty sight to come home to. My garage floods when we have a big rain. I need to install drainage around the door to carry the excess away. Glad your garage wasn't too bad. So are you up for a hockey game!! :smilielol:
