alsa chrome paint

After researching this for almost a year I finally gave it a try. I admit it is more reflective than silver paint, but a far cry from chrome. I meticulously cleaned and preped my rear end as they instructed, then applied their paint according to directions. The results were disappointing to say the least. I am glad that I only paid 1/2 price for their chrome paint. I have used some of their other products with great success but this one is a gimick. I still have a can and 1/4 left and am going to try again on some wheels I have that have bad chrome on them. But this time I am going to buff and polish them before I apply their system to see if that helps. Below are a couple of pics to show how it come out

there is no substitue for chrome and there is only one way to get a chrome finish and it isn't in a can.

Looks more like polished aluminum, but it looks nice!

I agree that you can't get real chrome out of a can .... BUT when they advertise and demo it as 95% reflectivity of real chrome and show demos of it - it should be closer than this. I wasn't looking for 100 %  but I did want it to at least reflect headlights at cruise night

Did they get in to detail on how they prepped the surface?  I just wonder if they had some sort of "snake oil" treatment they put down first.  I would imagine the surface would have to be super smooth, too.

ya on their site they use these plastic speed shapes but they have done whole cars with this stuff. I also suspect super smooth is a key, even tho the dome on my rearend was smooth - looked great in just the black base coat ...lol

the only way to get true chrome look without plating is spend a good chunk of change on the right equipment and proper materials, there are hundreds of video that will show you how simple it is, it just takes some money, don't quote me on this, but I believe their system was around 10-12k about 8-9 years ago, when I did some research back then,it has progressed alot and is much easier now,I think they use ionized water in application.

The one of the most important details in application, the surface must be slick as glass

I did it just as they instructed and showed in they demo video. I had the d
"dome " on my rearend almost polished to chrome (as much as steel will) since then I have done a wheel using my own method and it has turned out much better
