1970 Challenger gas cap?
« on: March 10, 2009 - 11:36:14 AM »
Hi all!
I just ordered a Flip cap from P&G I went to my local jobber to get a cap for it and he doesn't have a listing for it? I just want a non-locking cap that will fit under the flip cap. The car is a 70 Challenger CA car . It has that funky tube deal going from the tank the tube in the trunk that's about the same size as the fuel filler tube? If this maters? Anyone have a Stant or Gates part # ?
Thanks! Brad

I had a hard time finding mine. I ended up getting one at Carlisle in the late 90's. Make sure to check to see if you have a vented cap or not.

After looking on E-bay I found out that 71 AND  CA emissions cars have a different cap if you have aprox 1/4 slots in the cap/filler neck it's the 71 or CA emmisions cap all other years have aprox 7/16 slots? Mine has the 1/4 slots and it's a 1970 model? Does any of this make sence?

It makes sense , the 71 cap is a little smaller too. I ordered one of e-bay. It was suppose to be for a 71  :banghead:
