About a month ago a black 08 SRT started showing up in the parking lot at work.  I have always wanted to park next to it for a side by side comparison.  Today, on the way to lunch the spot next to it opened up and a friend stood there until I was able to grab my Chally and park it side by side.  It makes for a nice picture and as much as I want a new one, the old one has really got an edge on the new one.  I don't know I think its the chrome.

Theres just something about old cars, they have chrome and lines, loud ass pipes and a lot of character.  New cars are just....blah.  I pick your Challenger 10 times out of 10.

  • 2 cars - twice the wrenching... yay?
I gotta say, I do love the new Challenger.....but

Someone had even asked if I would trade my car even heads up for a new one. And I know the new ones are faster, ride smoother ( not to mention worth more money than an oldie ), but it's just not a classic.

I wouldn't mind having a new one but I wouldn't trade an old one like yours for it. Completely two different animals.

:iagree:  Yup, I agree.  Character.  Old cars have classic lines that they will forever be loved for.  New cars are just new cars at this point.  No passion for them yet...

Don't get me wrong, the new Challenger is nice but old Challengers will always have a certain mystique about them, IMO...
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.
