Just some fun with a mustang
« on: December 06, 2001 - 09:42:39 AM »
had the challenger out today (73, 440/hemi 727, 3.23 sg) and noticed a newer mustang pacing me from way back, running lights and stuff to keep within range.  well, i get into town and i take some evasive turns, and finally the stang has cut through the traffic and is right behind me.  so i decide to have some fun, and let the car just idle along at about 20 mph for a few hundred feet as he tries to get around me.  i could hardly keep a straight face as i romped on it and took off like a chimp on meth.  you know that awesome feeling when all the mirrors are shaking and the road starts getting blurry when you really get on it?  well the purple fuzz that was in my rear view was definately gone in less than the length of the quarter, and that's UPHILL no less, at a top speed of 96 and 4200 rpm before i had to get on the brakes.  keep in mind this is on a downtown street :)  the poor sucker never had a chance :)

I just knew[/b] I shouldn't get into the Kill Stories section!  I'm gonna' tell stories that'll get me in trouble!

A number of years ago I worked at AT&T with a bunch of engineers.  Greatest group of guys to work with!  One of 'em had just bought a new cycle, and another guy had a Nova, I believe.  We all went to lunch one day, and decided to race back to work.  I had my '73 Road Runner.

To get to work, we have to go over "C Street Bridge."  It's a 2-lane one-way set at 35mph (probably for winter, cuz everyone does 50mph on it).  Well, we're racing back and we lost the Nova before we ever hit the bridge.  I'm right on the cycle's arse.

It's always a good thing to know the dimensions of your car, especially if you're short like me and have done boo-boos in the past that taught you as much! ;)  Traffic wasn't exactly light, but I guess I was either crazier or had bigger bawls  ::) than my cycle-competitor, cuz I was zig-zagging between cars where he seemed to fear to tread.  Won the race.

Just love that adrenaline!  Hee hee!

Please don't tell my Hubby!  Sheesh, I'm in trouble!   ::)
