K-member re-enforcement ?
« on: March 14, 2009 - 06:55:43 PM »
Hi I hear about people beefing up the K-member to stop movement in steering box.
Does anyone have pictures of this ? I have a new K-member and want to do this before I install.
Thanks Brad

This can be as simple as boxing the front/rear portions of the steering box mount and beefing up the factory welds. If it is out and your cleaning it up and have the equipment, going over the factory seams is never a bad thing either. Also may want to throw another bead around the lower control arm mounting sleeves.

I already did it to mine. It's a lot of work if you want it to come out looking good.

I installed a diagonal brace inside the left mount as well as going over most of the welds & adding a couple of gussets as well
