Does this look like the Moapr conversion distributor?  Its a 74 318.

The engine is ain a 72 Barracuda with the old style points wiring .....

Can I just buy the "brain" and the wiring harness for it?

Yes that does look like a Mopar Electronic Distributor :2thumbs: just buy the ELectronic box and wiring and the rest will be an easy installation :woo:

Well THATS good news!  I was planning on replacing the points ignition I thought i had anyways down the line.

I am also looking to replace the engine wiring harness....mine right now is rougher than I thought...is that plug and play or a lot of work?  And, do I get the 72 or 74?  I think I saw somewhere that they have a "modified" harness to support the electronic ignition conversion.....????

the 72 had electronic as an option so you do not need a modified harness

The harness I have is really hacked....no 5-pin plug or anything, so i cant see it plugging into anything....and there is nothing for the distributor to plug to....

I am ordering the electronic harness from Bill Evans.

Then I guess all I need is the actual box.....
