Just measured the block's bore with a recently acquired micrometer... It is 3 7/8" precisely... That's standard bore for a 340,right guys???  Chime in if you think or KNOW otherwise,please...   Cheers!  Jeff in BC.

Better have those mics calibrated-bore should be 4.04" for stock 340.

3-7/8 is alot closer to the size of a 318 bore than a 340 bore. :clueless:

You won`t see a .020 or .030 overbore with a tape measure. The only accurate way is with a vernier ,mic or dial bore indicator.

Just got the block back from JB Precision engines here in Victoria....One cylinder will need a sleeve, but everything else came out solid...STOCK,UNMOLESTED BLOCK,as I thought...I'm California bound eventually,so delivery down I-5 somewhere is possible, provided you're not in a hurry... Something else to chew on,eh???    Cheers!  Jeff.
