Anyone have an idea as to why Chrysler made some 318 2bbl as dual plane and some single plane (other than $$$)? Surly it wasn’t a high RPM screamer. You would think it would dual all the way, trying to get the best drivability out of it.
Don't hate me for it, but I have a Chevy 4.3 2bbl in my boat (single plane). Was looking at replacing it with a 4bbl. The Edelbrock performer is advertised as a dual plane, but it is a single. The 4.3's firing order is 165432. It is even fire "bank to bank", it does not need to be dual plane. Just needs the plenum divider.
