Header gaskets
« on: March 29, 2009 - 06:44:58 PM »
Can header gaskets be re-used if they're in good condition? I took the headers loose to get the trans. out. Can I re-use them, or should I get new? They're TTI headers if that makes any difference.

If they are the crushable gaskets made of aluminum like Percy makes, then no problem. What do you have? If they are paper...   :22yikes:

Felpro exhaust manifold gaskets have paper on one side, metal on the other.  The paper side sticks real well to the head, and the header pull away cleanly from the metal side.  I've used the same gaskets for several header on/off.  To me, as long as the gasket is in good shape, not breaking apart, etc   should be ok.
Many years ago my sister inlaw died from car exhaust inhalation so I know what your worried about.  We all miss her.  She was good person.
