My 904 trans with a Reverse Manual Valve body and wide ratio gears is a good 5 years old (forgot really, has to be 5 years or more) Working alright but its been almost 2 years since I changed the oil and filter and should do it again soon I guess. The trans guy sold his place to his brother (who seems not as hip, needed cooler lines replaced last Fall and met him). Hes way up north in deer country and I can't get a hold of him.

I look in the books and see 2-3 different settings, 7 turns, 4 turns, 2 turns...any way besides trial and error to know how tight I should adjust the low and reverse band. The kickdown band he told me 2 1/8 to 2 1/4 and that is easy enough to re-adjust if needed but I hate to have to keep dropping the pan down if I get the setting wrong.
