It's a bit of a dilemma for me right now. My project has been dragging for so long, but last year the guy who is doing it has gotten back in gear. However I lost my job late last year. I have a home equity line, and hadn't tapped it yet, so when he asked for money a month or so back I sent a check from that line. Current interest rate is not much over 2%, so the payments will be minimal, for now.
I've had a lot of good luck in the past flipping some parts that I have some thorough knowledge of. I mainly have found them on ebay, poorly listed, bad pictures, low buy it now, etc. I once bought a part for 99 cents and relisted it on ebay a few months later with an accurate description and good pictures and got $295 for it!!
I'm still doing that a little, but its not easy to sell things for a good price now days.
I've probably funded (and swapped) for a large percentage of my parts for my T/A project that way, which is nice!
