to me it depends why you are in the hobby
if you are looking for an investment now is the time to buy all you can get , not sell !
If you love the cars like I do this makes no difference , my Chall is not for sale & won`t be before they take my licence away from me , i guess it is good to know after sinking a lot of $$ into these cars that you can get a return often with profit from these cars if you wanted to or had to sell , I would rather invest in cars personally as at least when the market drop like it has you still have a car to enjoy ,while owning a piece of papaer saying you own Nortel shares is not much fun  :smilielol:

While that car looks like a decent buy even in todays market, a couple of years ago it would have been a steal.
Since I have a few toys, my first reaction to the falling prices is negative because NONE of the cars I have are currently worth more than I have in them.  But if I stop and think about it, none of my "real investments" are doing well either.

If you really enjoy these things the way they are meant to be, we should be happy that they are available for less.  After all, how may of us would complain about a $2 lobster dinner?  Only the guys that bought a bunch of lobsters at $5 and were hoping to sell them at $10 instead of enjoying them.

If the crappy economy and high unemployment would require me to sell my cars to pay the bills, It would be frustrating that I would be getting half of what they were once worth, and I feel for everyone in that situation.  On the other hand, If you had spent the same money on trips to Vegas you would have nothing to sell.  That is why I have always believed you should never consider your hobby an investment.

The real down side to the hobbyist, is that the riduculous prices they were commanding made it feasible to make and sell reproduction parts for them.  With the prices falling, so will the availability of new parts to keep them going.

hobby an investment.  :iagree: yes my brother has owned over 280 cars in his life time he calls his a hobby/career , i have used him as an example only because i feel it is a hobby to me i really enjoy the cars i have,  and he is the type of person that either gets board or needs money, he currently has a 67 mustang 390 4 speed convertable, a rare car indeed i have seen those cars go for over 100k i think the car will only bring 75 k at best so i am not looking forward to the day he sells this one cause it aint worth that
my point is if your in to these for the money well hang on cause they are gonna drop so sell now
,imo the prices are way to high and these cars are not worth what people pay for the ,man 30 k can buy a much safer, better built ,modern tech car ,not some 40 year old car with no air no disc brakes ,a big block and crappy handeling just alot of work just to drive it down thwe road and worry abut your investment just enjoy them and who cares what its worth :2thumbs:

Supply and demand.  There are more Camaros and Mustangs out there, so the Mopars are more expensive.

Personally, I'd like to see the prices continue to drop so the people who really love the cars can buy them again.

Looking at the pics it looks good but the car was not restored but made over .its mentioned on the black chassis color in the Q A section .just another #s car that made no difference at sale .personaly i would have finished the car and went with four wheel discs and a color change along with 17 inch wheels and bumped the price to 40 or 50 k .but then i would want to keep it . :droolingbounce:

IMO, the car sold for a fair price.  I hope the prices tumble:)  And I have paid $60+k for these cars in the past and will probably lose on them if I decide to sell, but so what!  I look at what my other "real" investments have done for me and they are way worse and I can't touch them or powershift them :burnout:
I preferred the days of buying '70 V-code 'Cudas for less than $5k building an engine and hunting down a 6-pack for $500. and driving the car for a year or two, then sell it for another one just because you wanted a different color :ylsuper:

I don't think either party got the short end of the stick (pistol grip pun). I know. I'm trying to sell my Kuda and it's a lot more unusual. :dunno:
