They used to put superchargers and Nitro through the old 392's. They didn't last long but they did it when no other motor could handle it then for even 1 run. Nitro is pretty hard on parts. They are very similar in design to the A motor. That's why they have the weird lifter angle. They never changed it from the 1st Gen Hemi. Of course they had some thick cylinder walls back then before the "thinwall casting" technique came into vogue.
