Maybe when the powder company baked your driveshaft, something inside was held in place by plactic or rubber . . and oh course after baking the shaft . . it melted and whatever broke lose.   :dunno:
A friend suggested that it may have been soldered to the driveshaft which would explain how it got dislodged in the powdercoating oven. Solder melts when a weld wouldn't.

cause it started vibrating after it was installed. i have changed the diff since then and changed the trans. bout the only thing left it could be. but thats not to suggest that evry driveshaft from them will do this. you might want to get a price from denny's driveshaft and compare the two.

I have never seen a drive shaft balanced from the inside, but they may be.  How big or heavy does the item seem to be?

Powder coating only heats the item to 280 to 400 degrees, so melting of the lead is unlikely.

I would take it to a drive shaft shop and have them look at it.
