360 intake manifold
« on: April 14, 2009 - 06:24:18 PM »
I have a chance to pick up a stock 360 4 bbl intake manifold from a marine engine. Does anyone know if there is a differance between a boat intake and a car intake?

Boat intake the carb is on a different angle. Doesn't sit the carb level in a car. I found that out the hard way many years ago.  :bricks1:

The intake manifold has a wedge shape spacer that goes between the intake and the carb. The carb mounting flange is flat and parallel to the side of the manifold that bolts to the heads. So would this work or are there any other differances, like maybe the water passeges?

I don't know for certian, but sounds like it would be fine. The old 318 marine manifold that I had got a hold of the angle was cast into it.

Maybe just keep looking around.   I gave away a OEM 360 4bbl intake for free a couple months ago.  The new owner was very happy with the part and the price.

I have a stock 360 4 barrel intake that I want to get rid of. It is in good shape, I baked it to get the crud off. I never primed it so it has some surface rust now. Let me know if you need it.
