2 stories that stick in my mind with my cars was scarey. This was all because of linkage adjustments

1979  I put a 440 in my 74 cuda 360. I was gasing up and left the car running in park. The cashier says to me...Man looks like that car will go. Then at the same time, the car wiggled the slapstick into reverse because of a bad adujustment and took off backwards.  The wheels turned, made a circle and hit the big guard posts on the fuel island in a full circle. It was idling around 800 rpms.

Then I had a 68 corronet. 383 4 speed. My driveway at my shop was on an angle going right into the garage. We had just installed a tunnel ram and had the hood off. We were standing in my office and doing some paper work. Ray my friend says. God alan, that thing looks so tuff. It looks like it will jump right out of there.   Seconds later the car jumped into neutral , crossed a 2 lane with a median in the middle and about 100 ft into a field. This was in the 70's to.  I now make sure my ducks are in a row.

At the track. My 72 cuda. My son at age 9 asked me if he could put the air into the slicks for me.  7 lbs in on side and 30 in the other. I made a left turn while in a wheely in the 60 ft area.  never forget that.

1977 I lived on the misssissippi river levi on a plantation farm I rented just a few miles south of LSU in Baton Rouge . I had a 72 sattelite sebring plus which came with a rally dash and a 400 hp from the factory and 245 factory gears. I had bias tires that were new firestones. I decided to see how fast I could go. I ran it up to 130 something on the speedo, and then pulled into my drive way. When I got out, 2 tires went flat right there in fron tof my eyes on the passenger side. I must of ran over something.

Holy smokes Al, those are scary. :22yikes: I can imagine watching your car leave without you yielded some serious pucker factor. :scared:
Don't look back, I might be gaining on you.
