    Hey gang,
    I get asked about this all the time, so I used the July IOTM to illustrate something for you all;

    If anyone has ANY 1970 Hamtramck broadcast sheet(s) please help me out with copies or scans? I have very few of them for cars built on assembly line 2. Every sheet I get to see helps with my research.  :wave:

    I've heard that groups of cars went down the lines that were the same color -is this true?  Are the T/A and R/T in your example the same color?  Happy B-day BTW!

    Nope, one is pink & one is purple.

    I have not seen any evidence that same color cars were produced in a row.

    this may or may not have been queried here before but didn't Chrysler keep any master copies of build sheets? I would find it hard to believe that they just shoved a broadcast sheet in their cars w/o registering them SOMEWHERE in a master file, i.e. notebook, folders, etc. for a means of recordkeepin gfor the company

    They did keep records on microfishe of the IBM cards. The IBM card were inserted into a card reader & then the sheets were printed out at over 80 stations all over the plant, hence the word "broadcast".

    But the records from 1968 & up were lost, either destroyed in a fire or flood depending on what version of the story you hear.

    If you have a 1967 or older car, you can get a copy of what they have on it for (I think it is?) 25 bucks.
