Who's good w cams.. would help if I added pics! DOH!

Here's a shot of one of two cams I picked up in the HEMI parts deal. The guy I got this from first ran gas then alchohal. Ol' BIGS is cam shaft impared.. how can you tell? Also how can you tell if it was flat tappet/roller/??
Specs on it Crane # 669101  1. 296/4778-25-14  2.296/4778-28-14

That looks like a roller cam in the pics. The way I tell roller cams is looking at the lobes. Roller cam lobes do not taper off at the top of the lobe nearly as much as flat tappet cams.

That is some sort of roller camshaft based on the visible lobe profile.  If the part number is readable, maybe you could contact any of the Crane Cams distributors and get the specs on the cam.  I know Crane is gone, but there are still all of the old distributors around and maybe they have parts books/computer listings for the cams numbers and specs....

Thanks Ken!    The the numbers I have listed 669101 are on both boxes, the other numbers are scribed into the cams and written on the end flaps. But I know nothing of these numbers which I assume to be the specs(?) Would type of fuel used differentiate between gas and alc??
