Under dash question
« on: May 06, 2009 - 12:37:10 AM »
Sorry Farmertan, I stole one of your pics from another thread. Reply # 7, second pic down.

In this pic, there is an arm that has a "hook" on it (in line with radio slot in pic).  What does this bolt to or where might it go?   :1zhelp:

I pulled my dash a while back, cleaned up all the rust, replaced the pad, put it back in and cannot remember what it goes to. :clueless:  Thanks!
Jason

I think that hooks to the radio.

Yeah I just put my AM radio back in.  There's also two holes on the bottom of the radio that tie into the bottom dash pad.

May I ask which dash pad you used?

I think the hardest part of the dash swap was cleaning up the a/c vent areas to get the vents back into the new pad.

I was actually amazed at how easy the dash assembly came out.

I guess that I need to find a radio if I want that hooked up.

I originally bought a Year One pad, but was not happy with it and returned it.  I then took my pad over to Just Dashes and dripped it off.  Paid 750 or 800 cash and had it back in about 3 weeks.  I have only installed it and all looks great.  I have not yet put the speakers in but have slipped the vents in and they fit pretty nice in there.

It was pretty easy; the disassembly of it was harder than putting it back together.  Taking my front windshield out was the biggest help of all.
