Dying the headliner and seats?
« on: May 11, 2009 - 06:17:38 PM »
As I continue to try and find a  good transmission guy in my area (not proving easy to do), I have begun some other projects..........interior is where I am putzing now...

i got a can of VHT interior dye.....did the visors and they turned out pretty good!

I thought I would try and see what it woulddo on my light blue (faded) velour seats....found a inconspicuous spot underneath.  LooksOk, but wont be able to tell for sure till i go all the way I guess.

My headliner is in good shape aside from dirt, some minor rust stains and some mold.....so thought I would try the dye on it too....Thing is, new headliners are only $65 or so, right?

Am I just better off getting a new headliner? The dye is $8 a can and I used a whole can on thetwo sunvisors and the two plastic trim pieces thatgo from thedash to thrroof on either side....I will probably need a few cans at least for the headliner....

As for the seats, new seat covers are pricey , but again, I guess the dye is too....

Thoughts anyone?
