Ok guys I have the lines completly bleed in my 71 Challenger convertible.  So here's my next question.  The top goes down with out hesitation it's very smooth and on it's own.  But going up on the other hand is a real challenge(no pun intended  ;D).  Unless I stand in the car and pull up until it begins to catch on it's own it won't go up.  Once it's about half way it will finish closing.  But at this point gravity is also taking over.  What do you guys think is the problem?  Thanks

Dave

The number of problems are limited. Weak pump, bad cylinder(s), bad ground, dry hinge points in the frame, binding due to alignment, bad switch (resistance), bad wiring between switch and pump, kink in the fluid lines somewhere.
When I restored my 70 Challenger convert a few years ago, the top frame assembly had sat outside for a while. Big mistake.
The cylinders were so stiff that the top wouldn't go up and down smoothly and I destroyed a brand new pump.
New pump, new cylinders, new lines and then everything worked great.

, I would lube & align everything first then possibly the pump is too weak
