I know this isn't a cuda or challenger, but its mopar just the same.  My 1973 Fury oil light came on a couple of weeks ago.  I changed the oil, didn't help.  I just changed the oil pump and put some 20w50 in it...oil light is still on.  Is it something stupid and easy?  Doesn't seem to be running much different than usual, no knocking or ticking.  Could it be the oil sensor? :1zhelp:

My light kept coming on because I had a very small leak in the sending unit.  It is a $5 part from Mexico you can get anywhere.  If you pull the wire off of it, see if there is any oil around the tip.

I had that happen to me years ago. I thought "it must be the gauge!" Drove it for a while, and melted the engine.

I'd screw another gauge into the block to test it, or take it to a gas station service bay which should have one.

For a quick and (very) dirty test, just unscrew the sender, crank the engine, and see if oil shoots out the hole. But I suggest the alternate gauge test.

That right there is exactly why I installed a mechanical gauge to backup the idiot light.   One or the other may failm but hopefully not both at once.
