I am blue and having withdrawls
« on: June 04, 2009 - 02:23:22 PM »
I have been working feverishly to get my 72 fish on the road by july.   Not a resto or anything, but a real nice driver it should be.....

Well, now i am just waiting for a bunch of stuff to arrive so I can continue....

headers, wont be here til next monday

dye for headliner, next week

seatbelts, back ordered for two more weeks...

:hyper:  I am sure I can find something small to work on this weekend, but I was really hoping to do either the headliner or the headers......  :pullinghair:

I think I am having a type of withdrawl.... :working:

Just seems like I am always waiting for parts to arrive or the bills to arrive...LOL

LOL  I guess....Expect I have been basically ordering parts as soon as I know I can use them, really.....trying to spread the cash out .

Thing is, some of the delay is due to vendors not being 100% honest.

I called the ebay vendor selling teh headers and asked if they had them IN STOCK and READY TO SHIP.

They are based in IL so I figured I would have them in a few days, meaning i would have them this week.

The guy said "Yes we do, we have a set on the shelf.".

Except he neglected to tell me that his shelf is in CALIFORNIA.....(I live in PA)....

Yeah, I didnt ASK that , but sheesh.

Oh well.

I am disappointed though.  Maybe it means I will get a fresh set direct from the manufacturer (I thin kDougs is based in CA, right?)

So now I gotta figure out what to do in the meantime....

Insurance people havent got my app yet so cant do the state/plate paperwork yet.....so i cant even do THAT to tide me over....LOL  :hyper:

I feel your pain. Trying o get my 4 year long resto done by July and am waiting for parts as well. The parts I ordered two years ago I am now finding they don't fit such as the seat covers and headliner and the companies are telling me to take a hike. Dave from Roseville is a bright star as he is working feverishly with AMD to correct my back glass dilema. One thiong to another-never again. Can't wait until it is finished. Good luck with yours.

I hope you get your parts and they all fit!! :woo: I too feel your pain. I got my motor put together and then had to pull out the lifters and send them back for a recall. Finally got the motor back together and dyno'd and now the aluminum oil pan is defective and will have to be sent back! :swear: I wait & I wait!! :pullinghair:

Don't tell me you don't have something that needs cleaning, painting or mending
......Heck I've got parts I bought 3-years ago I haven't done anything with yet.  :P

:roflsmiley: I can relate.  But I think it might have more to do with my procrastination than anything.  The shelves are flexin' with NOS boxes!

Thats exactly why I am ordering parts as I go , aside from the money issue.....plus, warranty issues as well.

I guess the downside to my way is that I have to wait....   :violin:
