Good Guys Summer Get Together
« on: May 28, 2009 - 11:16:32 AM »
This weekend is the Good Guys show in Pleasanton at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. Saturday they have a specail parking area for muscle cars. It also sounds like they are having an autocross event going on as well. I will be there both days.

I will try and post pics tonight. That Challenger in the autocross was the test vehicle for Hotchkis and had all of their parts on it that they now sell for e bodies, plus some prototype torsion bars and afco shocks. I thought it was awesome to see a 73 Camaro hold the fastest time, even better than the Z06 Corvettes. Granted the Camaro was worked over and the woman driver was an 11 time SCCA champion, but still it was awesome.

Here are some pics I took at the Good Guys Show.

Runs 6.50's in the quarter at 217 mph and its a 4 door

Apparently the Challenger is a good tow vehicle

Caddy on the autocross, lots of body roll

Even a deuce took a stab at the autocross

He carried the wheel like that through the entire corner

Wrecked the give away car

Nice pics - thanks for sharing.  I'm favorable towards that purple Challenger in the last pic.

I only have one complaint and maybe you can remedy it.  You take a photo of that gorgeous Pete and don't have a pic of the engine?

I can't remedy it because that Pete wasn't there when I was, but maybe 72hemi can help...

Yep I can help on that, and with the inside of the cab, but you will have to wait until later today when I get back home and can load the pics.

That purple Challenger is painted Prowler purple and a friend of mine did all the metal work on it.

ok what is with all the E bodies and the 20" rims??   :puke:   :clueless:  OMG does anyone agree that it looks like crap! when I went looking for new rims that seemed to be all I could find that is why I decided to have mine re-chromed!! the guy in the tire shop wanted to sell me that 20" crap and NO WAY!!! Plus those skinny little tires just doesn't cut it for me!  I guess they are trying to match what the new chally looks like. But to me an old school muscle car should have 16" rims!!

Sorry about the rant

I cruised around the area on saturday and a little on sunday and saw a lot of nice cars.  Seemed like a good turnout.
