I can't answer your question, sorry about that.

For what it's worth, I converted to K&N filters. I use part #HP-3001 on my 440. You don't need an oil filter wrench. It's made of hard steel with a 7/8" nut on the top so you can use a wrench to take it off. The fun part is fishing it out after you take it off.    :pullinghair:  My fan shroud doesn't play nice, but maybe there is an easier way that escapes me?

All old furds  :o
Owned one ford in my life (a taurus) and it was the worst car BY FAR. Broke down TWICE, with two different problems during a testdrive when I tried to sell it to a guy, and he STILL bought it from me. He called me later to complain that something ELSE broke on his way home and it had to be towed. I felt so bad I paid for that repair for him.
Thanks bigshclunk for the advice, but Ive use Mobil 1 for 10 years and love it. Though I might try that oil additive I read about in another topic for older engines, dzzp or something like that?

Funny, I had a 93 Taurus and it was the best car I've ever owned.  Still regret getting rid of it.  Over the 13yrs I had it, it only required the typical maintance/repairs.

You should just make sure that the one u get has an anti-drainback valve in it. Sure does save on engine wear.

WIX, WIX, WIX did I mention WIX. they are built really good and are the same as my aircraft filters but way less expensive. I know I cut them both open with a filter cutter to see what is going on in the motor. In Canada I buy them for $6-7. If you fellow US listers get together and group buy ........ well I buy Fleetguard filters for my Cummins 10 at a time for $2.69 ea.
