It's not really rare. Most people just don't like them so they've been removed over the years.

Most of the trim was fastened on with brake-on gusset studs. Periodically, they would get broken off, and they are very difficult to surface around. Once a majority of them are broken off, the rest are shaved.
The bodyside trim is probably the hardest stuff to find. No one probably kept it.

'70 Cuda ones are the best because they are surrounded by a matching tape stripe.

I have some of those pieces somewhere that I took off of a plain jane six cylinder car several years ago. I promised someone on here that I would try to find them for them and then totally forgot. If you're still on the board here, I apologize and if you're still looking for them I'll see if I can locate them.

I have a complete set of the short molding off a 1970 Barracuda, see below.  The only thing that is missing is one of the rubber filler pieces.

What due you think they are going for.  I don't see them for sale very often.

I am not crazy about them but if my car had them I would leave them on it. I can see where they would go a LONG way in protecting the bodyline from parking lot dings.

I could be wrong on this but I believe that only the Challengers had a factory installed side molding. The barracudas were all dealer installed. During that period, you could get the side moldings with rubber inserts on just about every car sold in the U.S.. Anyone know if the Barracudas had a factory installed side molding?
