Anyone heard of chaining an engine down?

my K member has the mountings for the chain wielded to it.  That is why I am changing out my K member.

I have started to make flat straps that bridge from the block across to the engine mount cross bolt , the strap is 5" long & disappears down there

My small block is chained down. I kept breaking mounts, even with a small block.

I had the same situation on my first Challenger - 25 years ago (holy cow am I THAT old!)  Went the chain route with it as well.  Never broke another mount.

NO NOISE at all... it makes the whole car shake like a pro stocker  the engine is locked down...... 

   sounds good to me....   what kind of material are they made of ?  did you make or buy those...
what`s a torque strap and what does it do?

my 440 Scamp has an adjustable one (with hiem joints) bolted from the head to the frame...works well

well...I learn something new every day...I just assumed that there were heavier duty mounts that could handle whatever torque you can give em.
Having to chain down the beast sounds kinda cool, but some of your other solutions, including some which I'm assuming you can buy off a shelf, seem a lot more practical and efficient.

That engine ripped the bellcrank off the frame bracket once. It will mangle the shaker if it's allowed to move too much. 3.54s and 525 pound feet at 2800 will do that.
