Christmas cruisin in California
« on: December 29, 2009 - 02:57:19 PM »
Well,
some pics from Christmas day cruisin in Santa Cruz and serpentine hill roads around...
License plate needs some explanation.... Toy moved back to California from Finland around mid October. Sailed for 6 weeks with furniture container ending up into San Jose. Hmm, no snowy christmas time like in Finland but lots of driving season left here in down south (coming from latitude 60 deg, equals to Anchorage  ;D) so we had to invent some new ways to enjoy the new Christmas habits.
So of we went, heading to Saratoga to fill the tank with V-power and Sunoco, half-and-half some 16 gallons. Nose towards hills to Castle Rock state park and Santa Cruz, a shot of Pacific Coast highway and more serpentine roads... 110 miles and 15 gallons later, happy faces. Not that bad Christmas day event compared to snowy Finnish style winter-ish conditions... can't complain  :grinno:

License plate is indeed finnish plate but seems to work pretty good here too... at least state patrol sheriff did not stop us while cruisin in highway along with him

Couple of pics ... and lastly the engine treatment that the car undergoes over the "winter" , sitting steadily in the carage already and waiting for wrenching
Dementia already from the year...mmmm ???

It's heartening to see a sharp Mopar come BACK to California.  They're usually going the other direction.

Cruisin in my home mountains I grew up in.  :2thumbs:

If they came out here and did it they'd never go back.
Looks like Big Basin there too?

MT's are 29*12,5" on a 8,5" rim... a bit too skinny though  ;D

Mike, Big Basin it is.. really nice looking place to cruise around with some very narrow roads.
Kids just flew back here yesterday from Finland, they had couple of feet of snow as well there.

Have to see if I take the next trip to Yosemite with that B1 engine... somewhere late spring or so  :cooldancing:

I wouldn't take it there if it were me.

Too crowded always 24/7/365.
Car idling in traffic loading up and getting hot.
Pontential door dings. Tourists can act pretty lame sometimes.
Bad looks from the tree huggers.

I'd leave it home.  :2cents:
