Ignition/Starter Delayed Engagement Issue
« on: June 16, 2009 - 11:31:13 PM »
Hey from TN
I need some advice on an issue that popped up today. I have just installed my new setup from FBO (Great Company).  :2thumbs:  I had been going thru the checks and setting the recommended numbers when I started getting a weird starting sequence.  :clueless:  I would turn the ignition as usual but instead of an instant start I got a delay before the starter would engauge. It started but the delay caught me off gaurd so I immediately turned it off to find out that the solenoid/starter (New) was still spinning.  :clueless: I did the this 5 times with the delay occurring 3 out of the 5. The 2 remaining were normal starts. The good thing is that it started everytime.

Question: Could anything I installed today cause this issue or could my adjustments during the install interfer?    :pullinghair:         Any help would be helpful.

Installed:
Distributor
Coil
ECU
Ballast Res
(A688 Kit) (Thanks Don  :worshippy)
2009 Dodge Charger 3.5 (Son's Ride)
2008 PT Cruiser Turbo (Mom's Hotrod)
2006 Grand Caravan SXT (you'd be surprised)
1973 Dodge Challenger (383ci w/425HP)

NEVER FORGET!!!!!!!!!!!!

there is no crossover between the two , coincedently your starter seems to have started sticking
