I have 489 with the dredded clutch shudder, does any one know of a REPUTABLE company to get a full rebuild kit from?what I need is crush sleeve, pinion bearing, side bearings and new clutch kit as I have found a good clutch centre, can you still get the axel cone bearings instead of greens?

I would use a spacer & shims instead of the crush sleeve & yes the tapered brgs are still available , have you tried adding the posi additive to prevent the shudder ?

I recently bought two diff rebuild kits from Mancini Racing (not incuding the sure grip clutches, just the diff parts).  All the bearings (carrier and pinion) were USA/Canada made Timkens, which still have a fine rep for quality.  I'd bet you can get the axle bearings from them as well, or from Rock Auto or probably your local good auto parts store (Napa, et al).

The sure-grip gear oil additive eliminates chatter going around corners, have you tried it?
