I wonder how much of that debt is owed by a conservative majority congress as opposed to a liberal majority congress. I honestly dont know and would like to see it in black and white. The current administration is ramming much more down our throats at a much faster pace than anything I have ever seen in my life. Hypocrasy? The jury is still out on that one imo.

the Democroatic Congress, who started in Feb. 2007, plans the FOLLOWING year's budget:  2008.

2008 however is a fluke b/c the Fed spent huge money on TARP to rescue the banks.

That chart corresponds to President Part not Congress majority.

And too bad that chart doesn't take in to account things like the Wars, Katrina, 9/11, the price of gas because of failed energy policies of the past and the strong arming of a certain administration on banks to make sub-prime loans which tanked the economy, etc. Some choose to focus on just those that took advantage of bundling the bad loans with good ones or the banks that were left holding the bag instead of the real root cause of so many bad loans, just like they choose to point at the high gas prices today instead of past policy decisions that led to it in the first place.

Now let's be intellectually honest. In 2006, the last year the Republicans controlled Congress the deficit was 248 billion after which the Democrat controlled Congress had control of the purse strings, and today it exceeds 11 Trillion. Do the math.  :2thumbs:

Once we had Ronald Reagan, Bob Hope & Johnny Cash. Now we have Obama, No Hope and No Cash!

I remember when I was in elementary school in the late 80s and early 90s that we had a deficit then of 4 trillion. I doubt very seriously we made that into a surplus before 2000.

And for those of you who say we should never have started that war, you have no idea how bad things were for those people before we went in there. I fought there twice and my little brother is there now. I lost 2 good friends over there. We started it, only problem is they are taking way too long to take the reins. And if we just pulled out Iran would run in and take over.

Did you know that Iraq lost Soccer in the Olympics a while back to Egypt. What did Saddam do? He had 5000 Egyptians killed and killed the whole soccer team.

And don't even get me started on the whole WMD mess. He had the capabilities, the scientists, and the aerial platforms to use them. I'm not gonna go into the whole thing because it will take up a page and a half.

95% of America has NO IDEA about anything over there, especially considering the media is incredibly Liberal.

I think the 4-Trillion you refer to was the total national debt accrued over time not a single years deficit.
