Challenger roof help/ spare pieces anyone??
« on: June 24, 2009 - 10:17:31 PM »
I thank all that helped me in the other thread about the roof  :2thumbs:

I figured I'd start another one since it does pertain to my car  :dunno:

 I've been cutting/fabricating/  :drunk: tonight

And was wondering if any of you fine folks, (shameless @ss kissing   )
happen to have some structural parts of the inner roof bracing taking up precious room in your yard??
I have them outlined in the pics.
I've been doing my best at cutting off pieces of my old quarter panel, and using that, but I just figured I'd ask anyways.
I know it's a shot in the dark, but who knows.

Thanks in advance for any input/pieces/advice

The piece that is spot welded to the top of this piece..

I'm doing the same right now. About 1/2 done. I've bought quite a few pieces from members here. As soon as I'm done (if you still need them at that time) I'll let you know what I have left. They are hard to come by. Mine all started with a little tiny hole in the corner of the roof by the A pillar about the size of a quarter. It was amazing how the sand and water must have collected in the structural parts of the roof. Mine isn't as bad, but still needed repairs.

5 suggestions:

1.) Contact WagesofSin - I just "sold" him those EXACT pieces. He has a cuda and plans on modifying those pieces to fit. If he does not need a particular part of them, you make out in spades. I am sending  him everything I had left.
I expect to receive his check  within the next couple of days.

2.) I just saw this and though of you. Craigslist Jaxed.com sitemash
                                                  http://springfield.craigslist.org/pts/1238357131.html
                                                  http://raleigh.craigslist.org/pts/1227329822.html

3.) Contact Daryl Finch, he will cut anything you want froma  rust free california car, and ship it to ya.
He will sell you exactly what you need, drill it out at the welds, and make sure its perfectly packed.
I think I have his # somewhere. Just PM me if you need it.

4.) try a local scrap yard that deals in older cars. I think there is a good one outside of boston that might have soemthing. The one by me burnt the 5 Challengers they had trying to cut a roof off for me  :crying:

5.) Post on the parts wanted section, ask MoparClown - He is a Connecticut guy I beleive...

I wish I could help more. I was hanging on to this things for WAY too long.

Best,
Dan

I can't help on the side pieces, but I think I have a piece that goes above the back window.  If you still need it PM or email me.  I'll take a look at how hard it is to get off.  If its easy (i.e. a couple of swipes with a sawzall), just cover shipping and its yours.

I'm only an hour from the one on Raleigh Craigslist and Grancoupe is right down the road from there. Let me know and we'll take a look for you. Might be able to transport as far north as Rochester or Buffalo, NY later this year.
My name is Steve and I'm addicted to Challengers...

I will DEFINITELY get in touch with a few of you on your more than generous offers to help

 Hey Wages......wanna chime in
Those pieces wont even fit a Cuda, and besides, you can make them from scratch I'm certain of, as you have the talent  :worshippy  :clapping:.........I do not  :walkaway:
Hell, as you know I cannot even prep a panel right  :crying:  :clueless:

No guilt trip or anything  :1zhelp:  :sadwavey:  :roflsmiley:
Just kind of throwing out some observations

Hey Hedkace, why didn't you get ahold of me?I just found this post.See the roof thats cut with the surface rust? You can have it,if you come here and pick it up
If the pic doesn't show up?its a very solid piece that is cut across the top at about the top of the quarter window and the inner structure is excellent.

Hey Clown, wasn't really sure who had what, and how much of whatever left  :dunno:
That's why I figured I'd throw it up as a generalized request.
That is beyond cool of you to offer me that roof section  :worshippy  :jumping:
I'll gladly take a ride down your way............(even though it's more than 40 miles  :poopoke:  )
 I'll give you a call.
Do you happen to need any particular E body parts that you can think of before I head down your way?
I'll gladly bring em.

By the way Doug, would you happen to be going to the Summer Nationals in Worcester, Ma this weekend? (July 2nd - 5th......thurs. -  sun. )
www.summernationals.com
It's a giant show, and usually a great time..........and 3 minutes up the street from me.
Either way, I'll be in touch dude

Jeff
I would love to go to the summernationals, but have too much going on right now.
I actually have the 71 Cuda for sale right now,so I am not looking for anything for that. But if you want to bring me something?Thats not required though.I am planning on selling all of my E-body stuff. My decision is that I am keeping the 69 Cuda and my 93 Iroc R/T and the parts I have scavanged for them.I am also putting a 92 Iroc back together as a daily driver.I don't have the room here right now for all of the cars I have(6) and I need to put a new furnace in my home.Give me a call when you can make it down here so I can dig it out of one of the sheds.
