edelbrock 750 enough carb for 440?
« on: July 09, 2009 - 09:47:15 PM »
Well, I think my edelbrock 1407 carb needs to be rebuilt.  I am new to mopar, and im sure 750 is enough carb, but if im gonna go through and rebuild this thing, i want to make sure im not wasting my time with an inadequate carb.  thanks.

IMO no , the carb will work OK but is undersized for the 440 , I generally use an 800-850 minimum but it also somewhat depends on the engine build & purpose / usage intended for the engine

not sure of the engine details other than it is a 72 440 with an edelbrock performer rpm and headers...sounds like it may have a cam.  thanks for the response.

I'd go with a 800 Thunder AVS or some kinda 800+ holley clone if ya wanna send your $$ to China. :2thumbs:
